The Healthcare crisis


 

How quickly things have changed

My wife is a aged care worker .  She works the night shift and looks after 34 Dimentia residents each night.  They are supposed to have a worker to help share the workload, however often they do not have the staff to cover this.a

Now they have around 8 staff who have made the choice not to get a vaccination and on September 16 these will no longer have employment thanks to the Government.

We have now heard because of the staffing crisis in healthcare that the government a crisis the government has created, they are now trying to get staff from overseas to fill positions here.

So the government has put rules in place to try and force people to be vaccinated.  Staff have refused to be forced to get the vaccinations and will lose their jobs because of the government’s edict on vaccinations. 

And now the governments solution is to bring overseas workers to fill the void?

Staff in these residential care facilities are not high paid, they do this work because they truly care for the residents. Yet our disgraceful government will bring staff from overseas which can only mean they will have to get more than what the current staff get or they would not be able to attract these workers to come over here.

This is NOT the Australia I have loved almost all my life.

The Significance of Choice

 I spent many years in the RAAF and discipline was a part of life.  We only had limited freedom on base and appreciated our freedoms and the choices we had off base.  Even when I was an Investigator with Immigration we dealt with a unsavoury element of human traffickers and crawled in tight spacer both on boats and on land.  Due to this we had a need for Hep injections, but this a individuals choice even though work paid for them.  The same went with Influenza and pneumococcal injections.   A growing number of Australians are becoming acutely aware that vaccination policy will eventually intrude into every aspect of their personal, family, social and economic lives, unless the sweeping powers available to the parliament under the Australian Constitution are duly limited. It is not a case of if, but when vaccination policy will touch an individual, family or occupational class.
